Elected to office in 2006, Wee Kiak is a Member of Parliament for Sembawang Group Representative Constituency. He heads the YP Community sub-committee of the Youth PAP.

Wee Kiak has been in the medical field since 1992. At the age of 40, he is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Eye Centre at Mount Alvernia Hospital and Deputy Director of National Healthcare Group Eye Institute.

An avid nature lover, Wee Kiak enjoys gardening. He also regularly takes time off his busy schedule for a jog or swim to keep fit.

Wee Kiak is an alumni of Sembawang School. After completing his 'O' levels in Chinese High School, he went on to Hwa Chong Junior College for his 'A' levels. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1992, Masters of Medicine in 1998 at the National University of Singapore, and ophthalmology subspecialty post graduate qualifications of FRCS Edinburgh and FRCOphth London in 1998. .
