Currently aged 43, Dr Fatimah has been a Member of Parliament for Marine Parade Group Representative Constituency since 2006. She works as a Senior Consultant/ Director of Education and Training at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Singapore General Hospital.

 

She is also a Senior Clincial Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of medicine, NUS and School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. She has led many humanitarian and disaster relief missions in the last ten years to countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, India and Africa.

Dr Fatimah loves the outdoors and has a strong interest in extreme sports such as mountain climbing, marathons and trekking. She also enjoys reading, cooking and writing in her leisure time. To date, she has over 100 publications in peer reviewed international journals.

Dr Fatimah attended CHIJ Opera Estate before joining CHIJ Katong and Temasek Junior College. Subsequently, she enrolled in the medical faculty at the National University of Singapore and completed her MBBS in 1990. She has worked in the UK, USA and many other countries, including serving as an international consultant in Emergency Medicine in New Delhi, India.
