Singapore, 4 November 2008 ~ Many Singaporeans, including the Young PAP, have been following the evolution of the American Presidential campaign closely. Barack Obama’s victory has particular resonance, for we are a nation pledged to unity regardless of race, language or religion.
Obama’s campaign captured the imagination of Americans and contributed to increasing voter turn-out on voting day. Anecdotal feedback from voters as interviewed by the various newspapers suggested that voters felt they had an important role to play and that they matter in this important event.

The politics of any democratic nation are defined by her people -- for it is the people who choose the leaders and government of the day.
The views of the people, the dreams of the people; the hopes, aspirations, beliefs and day-to-day lives of the many men and women which make up a nation -- all these in turn affect the political evolution of a country.
What has changed about Singapore politics since 1965? Is there something you want to change today? And even as we speak of change, are there certain things which we should hold constant?

Young PAP elects 14 district representatives into its Exco
The biannual elections comes just as the party is gearing up for the next polls due in 2011.
The 14 new faces will play a crucial role in canvassing grassroots support as Singapore's ruling People's Action Party prepare for the next General Elections.
The Young PAP is made up of members aged 17 to 40, and they are an integral part of the party's effort to inject new blood and a fresh infusion of minds into its leadership.
