Six new PAP CEC members appointed
The PAP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) met today and appointed six new replacements to fill its vacancies. The six were chosen through a poll of Branch Chairmen and cadres representing PAP branches, district committees, the Women’s Wing and Young PAP.
A new line-up of the Government Parliamentary Committees (GPC) Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons and members has been appointed to coincide with the opening of the 12th Parliament of Singapore later this year.
The CEC of the People’s Action Party met on May 31st 2011 and approved a new line-up of appointment holders. The overall membership of the CEC remained unchanged, consisting of twelve members elected at the 2010 PAP Party Conference and six co-opted members.
“SO, when is the last leaf falling?” asked Lee Kuan Yew, the man who made Singapore in his own stern and unsentimental image, nearing his 87th birthday and contemplating age, infirmity and loss.
YP Overseas Humanitarian Mission to Refugee Camp affirms YP Community Outreach Program
10 December 2009, Singapore – After its first overseas humanitarian visit to a camp for refugees from Myanmar’s Shan State last weekend (28-30 Nov 09) led by Dr Fatimah Lateef, advisor to the Young PAP (“YP”), the YP was affirmed of its community outreach efforts since the YP Community SubCommittee was established earlier this year. The camp visitation shed light on the critical importance of community resilience, and YP returned to home base with fresh resolve to continue strengthening the social fabric between the youths of today and all members of the Singapore community.
